Acquiring ClickSoftware for $1.35 billion

Salesforce has done it again, just days after closing the hefty $15.7 billion Tableau deal. They have signed a definitive agreement to buy the Israeli Field Service software company. This is Salesforce’s 6th acquisition of the year and the year has not ended yet.

ClickSoftware started way back in 1997, before even Salesforce. And they are clearly in the leaderboard of optimising workforce. With this acquisition, it will be exciting to see how Salesforce’s current Field Service product will pan out.

In a statement, “As connected devices become smarter and more predictive, customers’ expectations are evolving to expect faster, more tailored engagement based on their unique needs. Companies must transform their customer service to stay competitive. This creates huge opportunities to further advance the on-site customer service experience.” We might be expecting the a more well round and complete solution for customers looking to provide a complete sales, service, marketing internal overview of their customers.

The deal is expected to close in the fall and is subject to the normal regulatory approval process.
